Even without the burden of suspicion on you it's a vexing, exhausting process, so she doesn't expect much.
If anything she buries herself in work, in permits, designs, and a bit of computer work that isn't in her department, but Lena had wanted a second set of eyes anyway. So when her phone goes off she's still at her office, and when she sees his name light up on her screen the smoke flooding her lungs tastes acrid.
